'Food or Drink' at Ooh La La

The new challenge at Ooh La La has been chosen by Jane and it's 'Food or Drink'. So lots of scope for your imagination.

Here is my inspiration for you.

This card was created using the Ooh La La CD of the Paula Oakley Collection. I printed the image off from the pyramage section. Don't those scones look real! The red checked background paper and greeting is also on the CD. The tiny teapot and tea bag were found in my stash.

I hope you'll join us for this challenge and for more inspiration pop over to Oh La La (link in sidebar) where you'll find some fab creations by the rest of the Design Team.

Have a good week. Enjoy!

'Flowers' at CD Sunday

Pamela has chosen the next challenge at CD Sunday. It's 'Say it with Flowers'. I'm sure this is going to be a very popular theme as we all love those flowery cards!

Here is my inspiration for you.

I began with white card stock and used a Martha Stewart edging punch for the front border. The CD I used was from Joanne Sheen 'Victorian Birthdays'. I printed off the background and the image and adhered them to the card. I finished it by adding flat backed pearls  to the edging. So easy to make and yet still very pretty.

Have a good week and have fun!

Cards with Animals

This is our next challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies. We would like you to include and animal on your lovely cards and as it's our 4th birthday there's a prize on offer. Hilde will send a wee prize to anywhere in the world for the winner of this challenge. Remember it's cards only.

We are also saying goodbye to Helen . I have loved working with Helen and I am sad to see her go. Keep in touch Helen xx

This is my inspiration for you.

I found this cute elephant for a baby card in my stash. The layout was pre done and I only had to fussy cut the additional bootees which I added to the bottom corner. I think it may have come from CUP but not sure. If anyone knows please let me know and I'll give it credit. A very easy card to make but so cute.

I look forward to visiting you soon to see what Animal images inspire you.
Have a good weekend. Happy Crafting!

Unstampabelles 'Layering and Borders'

Well we're mid way through the month and the Unstampabelles monthly challenge. Where do the days go?

We are looking for any layered creations with a an edging punch or die also being used. There's a great prize on offer too.

Some pretty edging dies. Now who wouldn't want to win these!!

Here is my inspiration for you.

I have made a Double Pocket Diamond Easel card with a punched border.

I started by creating the pocket element first, using a 8 x8 square of light weight card folded to create the pockets. My inspiration came from this video on  youtube Click on link to see the process of making it. It's not easy to describe but the video is very clear.

After making the pockets I added the layering of papers from a paper pack a friend shared with me. Not sure where it was from but may have been from OZ as she recently visited Sydney.
This was then added to a square piece of card stock to make the top diamond.

Then I used another piece of square card for the base and added a layer of the same paper.  The top easel element was then adhered with hi tac tape.

This was then placed on the fancy border edged element. This was made using a Martha Stewart Around the Page Punch. The strip behind the stopper was made using this same punch.

The stopper is a tiny oval die from a magazine which again was borrowed from a friend. Thank you Christine. I cut it several times and layered it up. Then I added the tiny silk rose bud.

Two of the tags are die cuts and one was in my stash. You can add anything to the pockets really. Each tag has a sentiment added. Then I placed a ribbon bow and silk rosebuds to finish! Phewwwww!!

A challenging card to make but worth it when finished.

I hope you feel inspired to join us. For more ideas pop over to Unstampabelles (link in side bar)

Have lovely week. I'm off on holiday shortly so may not be able to view your comments or visit you til I return. So be good!!

'Something beginning with B'

It's time for another challenge at Ooh La La. This one has been chosen by Deloris and it's 'Something beginning with 'B' So lots of scope for your imagination. It was my turn last time and my winner is up on the blog now for 'Get Well Wishes'. Thank you to everyone who entered. I had a great time popping in to visit you all and trying to choose a winner. Not easy as there were so many lovely creations.

Here is my inspiration for you this time.

I used the CD by Ooh La La  'Everyday Occasions'. There's lots of great inspiration on this CD for many occasions. I started with a square white card from my stash.  The background papers and main image are from this CD . I added a wooden baby embellishment and a die cut greeting to finish.
So an obvious B for baby and blue.

The design team have been very creative so please pop over to the challenge blog (link in sidebar) for more inspiration. I hope you have as creative week and I look forward to visiting you soon.

'Anything Asian'

Good Morning crafters. It's time for another challenge at CD Sunday and this time Jane has chosen 'Anything Asian'. We had some lovely entries for the  last challenge , the 'Sketch', chosen by Carol. The results for the Birthday prize and Pauline's for 'Spring Colours' are up on the blog now.

Sadly Pauline is stepping down from the Design Team because of health issues. We are so sorry to see her go as she has been a wonderful team member not only for  her creativity but also her friendship and support. We  hope all goes well for you Pauline.

Now for my inspiration for your for 'Anything Asian'.

I have used a CD by Joanne Sheen 'Oriental Dreams' for my creation. I used to pieces of A4 card stock to create the main card. I scored one piece at one inch on the long side and folded it. Then I cut the other in half to A5 size. This was adhered along the fold of the first piece.

The card was covered in the background paper from the CD. The circular toppers were die cut and a die cut border placed around them and then put on the front and inner back panel. I also placed a silver tassel to the middle image. This was also from Joanne Sheen. This middle image overlaps the card front. The inner verse was die cut with an oval die and lined up with the front topper. so when closed you only see the front image. I finished with the green flower gems  and a peel off greeting.

I hope you'll be inspired to join Jane's challenge at CD Sunday. For more inspiration please visit the challenge blog (link in sidebar)

Have a lovely week and I look forward to visiting you soon.

'Lots of Flowers'

I can't believe we are into May already. Time has wings for me anyway!! This fortnight at Crafting with Dragonflies Hilde wants us to use flowers on our cards. This is always a popular theme with our followers so I expect we'll get lots of lovely creations from you.
#
Here is my inspiration for you.

This a fold I've used once or twice lately. It begins with a piece of A4 card folded landscape orientation. Then I added a matt of floral card. The little top 'card' is an oblong piece of patterned co ordinating card stock. This is folded to create a gate fold which opens out and a sentiment or image can be placed inside. Sorry I forgot to take a photo of it opened before I sent it. The closure is made using two die cut flowers, one large and one small one, and are glued on opposite sides. The smaller ones acts as a 'lock' over lapping the larger one slightly.

To finish I cut two border strips in the same patterned card and placed them at the edge of the floral matt. I die cut some smaller flowers and added those at each end of the strips. Gems were added to the centers of the flowers.

I hope I've inspired you to get creative with your flowers for this challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies. For more inspiration click on the link in the sidebar to see what the rest of the team have created. Don't forget this is a fun challenge for cards only.

I hope you have a crafty week and I look forward to visiting you soon!
