Unstampabelles

It's a new month and a therefore a new challenge at Unstampabelles. We had some great entries last month and the DT girls are busy selecting there favourite, which is difficult when we have so many lovely entries.

This month we are wanting to see lots of layering on your creations with the added TWIST to use  a border punch or edging die. There's a lovely prize on offer as usual.

This is my inspiration for you.

I have created a simple handbag card using a template given to me by one of my crafter friends Christine....thank you for sharing. The shaped card piece is simply folded over and then I added layers.
The main card is embossed using a new A4 folder which I purchased recently. I then used a border punch to create two scalloped layers and placed them at the top to make a faux flap. The handle was made using the same edging die .
I'll try to explain how I did this. I edged some card then flipped it and edged the opposite side. Then folded it in half making sure the edges matched perfectly. I then fussy cut the centre out to create the space where you hold it.....clear as mud eh!!
I die cut the flowers using the same papers to co ordinate. I added liquid pearls in a matching colour to the centers. I drew some lines to create a spray and added the liquid pearls along the lines. I will add a sentiment later when I decide who to send it to.

I hope you're inspired to get those border punches out or dies. My teamies have some great ideas for you too. So pop over to Unstampabelles (link in sidebar) and see what they've created. You won't be disappointed.

Have a great month and I look forward to visiting you very soon.

OLL challenge 'Layer it up'

Good morning I trust you have all had a good weekend and are raring to craft this week. At Ooh La La our challenge this time has been chosen by Michelle. She would like to see lots of layers on your creations. Last time we had lots of yummy entries for 'Spring' and Lynn has had great fun choosing her Top Three. Pop over to the challenge blog soon to see if you're a winner!! (link in sidebar)

Here is my inspiration for you.

I have used the Ooh La CD 'Fleur D' Imagination'. There are lots of fantastic floral images on this CD.....well worth investing in. You will find the CD in the Ooh La La shop here ooh-la-la-creations

I began with a piece of lilac A4 card stock folded landscape orientation. Then I printed the background design onto lightweight card. I then made a smaller fold back centre opening card and placed it on top. I matted and layered an image from the CD and placed it in the centre panel of this smaller card. The large and small diecut flowers were layered and act as fasteners for the small card.

To finish I embossed two strips of the same lilac card and layered them on the outside edges of the main card. Finally adding the matching flower gems.

So lots of layering on this card. I hope I've inspired you to join the challenge. For more awesome creations pop over to the challenge blog (link in sidebar) and see what the rest of the team have created.

Have a great week crafting. See you soon!!

'Any Old Iron' with CD Sunday.

Good Morning everyone. It's time for a new challenge at CD Sunday. Last time it was Margaret's challenge' Enjoy Tea or Coffee'. We didn't have many entries but the ones we had were wonderful. Margaret will decide on her winner and it will up on the challenge blog next time. The winner and Top Three for my 'Punch it out' are up on the challenge blog now. So pop over soon to see if you are a winner!! (link in sidebar)

This time Jocelyn has chosen  the challenge as  'Any Old Iron'. Now this got us all thinking and I hope it will get your imagination up and running too. The team have come up with some great ideas. Here is my inspiration for you.

My 'old iron' is an old iron stove. You don't see many of these around in this modern age!! I imagine it would keep your kitchen lovely and warm too.

The image and background paper is from a Joanne Sheen CD with artwork by Janet Kruskamp. This is one of my favourite CDs and I have used it for many occasions.

The card is a simple landscape A5 with the image , background and sentiment taken from the CD. I found a metal flower brad in my stash which I'd had for eons which may have been sent to me by a fellow crafter I think. I added a pink gem brad to the centre. So more old iron!!

I hope I've inspired you to think 'Old Iron' . Pop over to the challenge blog (link in sidebar) for more inspiration from my teamies.

Have a crafty week and I look forward to visiting you soon.

' More than two folds'' with the Dragonflies.

The next challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies is to use 'More Than Two Folds'  in your card making. This is a favourite of mine as I love making unusual style cards. So I am looking forward to visiting you to see what you come up with.

Here is my inspiration for you.

As you can see this fairly simple card has three folds. . Using a piece of A4 card it is folded mountain fold at the centre. The two side panels were then made using valley folds. The central element was then cut half way across to make a swing card. I added a verse and a greeting to the panels and an image in the centre. Finally some matching gems and a tiny dragonfly.
The idea came from a  designer at Crafts You Print but I didn't make a note of which one.....sorry. If anyone knows please let me know and I'll add the info and give them credit.

Last time Hilde asked you to make cards using the theme 'Under the sea'. There weren't many entries which won't make my job easy to choose a winner as they are all lovely. I will let you know next weekend who it is. Check out the challenge blog to see what the rest of the team have created and don't forget this is a fun challenge making cards only.

Have a crafty weekend and I'll be visiting you soon.

Midway at Unstampabelles.

I can hardly believe that we are nearing the end of March and halfway through our challenge at Unstampabelles. This time we've been asking you to think about 'Punctuation' and using it somewhere on your creation. Sometimes punctuation can be amusing if used incorrectly and very annoying to the punctuation purists!  This is my inspiration for you.

I've used the exclamation mark but didn't go for the amusing twist. Unlike some of my teamies who have. If you pop over to Unstampabelles (link in sidebar) you'll see some very funny examples.

I am showing you a shaker card this time using a hot air balloon die that one of my crafters got as a freebie in a craft magazine (not sure which one sorry) I die cut the balloon twice and paper pieced one. The shaker is filled with tiny seed beads and sequins. The sentiment is computer generated using Word which I mounted on silver mirri card stock. Finally the three tiny 'balloons' floating high are actually  raindrop candy that I had been given as a RAK from my friend Wendy but to me they looked like mini balloons!!

I hope you'll be inspired to join us. Don't forget no stamps please either digi or otherwise. And of course there's a yummy prize as usual. Here it is.....

A brand new 'Die-cutting Essentials' magazine with freebie die, stamps and embossing folder.
A yummy prize I think you'll agree. I look forward to visiting you soon and enjoy your crafty week!

#224 'Spring is in the air'

It's time for another challenge at Ooh La La. Last time we had some fabulous embossing projects. Pop over and see if you were a winner!! (link in sidebar)

This time it's naturally all about Spring, 'Spring is in the air'. It certainly is here with the almond blossom in abundance and the fields full of yellow rape making a golden carpet. With this in mind here is the inspiration I have created for you this time.

The image and background papers are taken from the 'Paula Oakley' CD. This can be found in the Ooh La La store  (link.....ooh-la-la-) It reminded me of how the fields here in Cyprus look at the moment.

I started with a square card and chose the matching background paper from the CD. I cut it into two triangular shapes and then die cut the image to create a circle. I then die cut a frame to place around it. I then decided it needed to be softened so I added the light weight ribbon and made two tiny bows. Then I found some wooden yellow butterflies in my stash and placed them randomly along the ribbon. Finally I die cut the greeting in the same yellow background paper and placed it in the top right hand corner. Et Voila!!

I hope I've inspired you to join us at Ooh La La and if you pop over to the challenge blog (link in sidebar) you will find more inspiration from our wonderful design tam.

Take care and have a crafty week.

'Enjoy....tea or coffee'......

........that's our challenge next time at CD Sunday. What a great theme which has been chosen by Margaret.

There were lots of yummy entries for my 'Punch it out' challenge last time and I'm having fun trying to decide who has made the top three and who will be receiving a gift from me! Watch this space!!

The winner of ' Friendship, Love and Romance' chosen by Meg is now up on the challenge blog (link in sidebar)

Here is some inspiration for you this time. It's a photograph of a wall mural that Margaret took in her favourite coffee/tea shop whilst on holiday.

And here is my inspiration for you.

The image is from a Joanne Sheen CD, artwork by Janet Kruskamp. I began with a piece of A4 card folded landscape. Then added the image and embossed some strips of matching card to place on the outside edges. The sentiment is from the same CD.

You can use either tea or coffee in your creation or both!!.....whatever you ENJOY!! Only one other rule to use a CD in your creation and give credit to the designer of the CD.

I hope you'll agree that this is a real fun challenge this time and I hope to see lots of yummy entries!!

Have a great week!!

#76 'Unde the sea'

It's time for our next challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies. Hilde asked us to create a card using the under sea world for our inspiration. This is a card I made for my Christmas collection and I think it fits the bill perfectly.

The image is from an Ooh La La CD artwork by Shawn Jenkins. It's sea treasures in the form of a wreath!!

Each image was layered on to three die cut frames which I embossed and attached them to each other with a silver band. Then three more frames were made and 'sandwiched ' together (I hope you can see by the piccie what I mean!) I strengthened the band with embossed card in the same colour as main frame.

I also put images on the back of the card and placed a verse in the central one.

For more inspiration please pop over to Crafting with Dragonflies and see what my teamies have created. You won't be disappointed.

Have a crafty week and if you are having a well deserved holiday, like our lovely leader Hilde, I hope you are relaxing doing nothing!!

Punctuate!!

This is your new challenge at Unstampabelles this Month. Susan would like you to add punctuation signs to your work. The TWIST....this lends itself to being quite amusing if you can take it there. I didn't this time but watch this space!! There's always a yummy prize on offer too kindly donated by our lovely leader Susan.

It's a brand new die cutting magazine with embossing folder and dies.

Here is my inspiration for you.

I found this image on an OLL CD 'Everyday Occasions' and there was text written around the image with some elipses ......... Now I am fond of using these myself when sending out quick emails to friends. There is some more text on the card with a ' (a punctuation sign that is used instead of a letter). So I think I have the challenge covered this time.

For more inspiration please pop over to the challenge blog (link in sidebar) My teamies have been awesome with their creative makes for you!

Don't forget the main rule for this challenge is NOT to use STAMPS either digi or other wise. We had a lot of yummy entries last time and  the team are busy choosing their favourite....not an easy task! (ooopppsss there goes those elipses again! The winner will be posted in a week's time.

I hope you have a very crafty week and ENJOY!!
